Why digital online entries?
In the past we have dropped off our artwork and left all the preparation of labels and price sheets to someone else on the exhibitions committee. And that worked for a while, when the organization was smaller, and the world less complex. Several of our venues now want to see all the images in advance to prevent a potentially embarrassing display of unwanted subjects like nudity or political statements in their public spaces. And to create a record of the art show to prevent duplication over time and assist with purchase requests. MRAA needs an efficient way to adapt to the growing requirements from venues to supply digital images and information. Digital media, which is more versatile in nature, provides us with a more streamlined application process.

Who is eligible to exhibit?
Juried, Exhibiting Members are eligible for our shows.  Works that meet all physical requirements such as size restrictions (if any) and presentation are automatically accepted until available space is filled.

The deadline for entry has passed. Can I still enter a work into the show?
All deadlines are firm. We need to plan each exhibit, prepare labels and price sheets. Please get your work uploaded as early as possible. Prepare now! THANK YOU.

What are the technical specifications for uploading an image?
JPG or PNG accepted. All images of your artwork should be about 1000 pixels wide at 72ppi. Images may be larger but please try to limit file size to under 2mb each. These images may be used for social media and printed onto a price list. For more info see Photographing Art and Preparing Digital Image Files

Should the dimensions include the frame (for a painting or drawing, for example)?
No, input the sizes of the actual image area. You may wish to photograph the art with the frame, and use that as your uploaded image.

Is there a contractual reason to provide digital images?
Many venues now require a preview of the art intended for the show, so they may avoid sensitive topics being displayed in their public spaces (e.g., nudity, political, religious subjects, etc.) and all exhibitors are now requiring an inventory list. Here is the text of a contract: “Owner will deliver the Goods to the [Gallery] and provide an inventory of goods at delivery.” Your information entered into our online Call For Entry form goes into a spreadsheet that we use as the inventory for the show.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
