MAY 9, 2026, SEASON FINALE

MUSIC IN NATURE: Colin MacLeod.
This Scottish fiddler brings over 40 years of Celtic music experience to the canvas. And, as a life model, he will play the fiddle while artists enjoy the outdoors and music.

VISIT, sketch, photograph, paint, and enjoy the music. Our guest, Scottish Fiddler Colin MacLeod brings over 40 years of Celtic music experience. You’re invited to let traditional sound influence your art or your soul. Colin stands pretty still as he plays the fiddle outdoors. He makes a good model if you’d like to photograph, draw, or paint.

DATE AND TIME: Sat. May 9th, 10 am – 1pm

LOCATION: Mary and Nick Soroka’ s log home and studios near the Chickahominy River.

DONATION: To offset the cost of the fiddler, you are requested to make a $10 cash donation.

BRING: Art or photo equipment, lunch or snacks/ shareables

This is our final meeting of the season. We will celebrate! Please bring simple food to share and please attend even if all you want to do is walk the wooded paths down to the water, visit Mary and Nick’s pottery and woodworking studios, listen to nature and say hello to your friends over lunch. Let’s plan 10 to 1. Come set up earlier if you’d like a long session with morning light. Bring: snacks, and art supplies as desired, and a folding chair. Mary Soroka Real Estate is treating us to their place, along with soft drinks and water. See you there!

DIRECTIONS:
From the south to Brook Rd. (US Route 1), left on Cedar Ln. (Route 623), left on Holly Hill Rd.
At the end of Holly Hill Road, you’ll see a bank of mailboxes, and a few driveways.
Take the driveway to the left. This is a long shared road – wooded and rural.
At the next 3 way fork, there is a blue sign with their address –
Turn right at the sign.
Keep driving down the lane past several more houses. Keep going till you see a large log cabin!
There will be overflow parking offered by their neighbors to the right of the driveway
across from their garden just before you get to the house.

Lucille Lanier Lugay is a daily sketchbook aficionado. A landscape architect, her sketchbook is full of loose watercolor studies pulled straight from her garden.



Meetings are held 10:00 am to noon, Second Saturdays from September to May

Meeting Format: Gather and mingle at 10am / Presentations start promptly at 10:15 / Clean up 11:45  / Out at 12 noon sharp, usually. (Some meetings will last longer for special events.) Monthly Sept-May; we go on vacation in the summers. Some meetings will be with Zoom video conferencing.   ZOOM Tips here
