Sep 12 – Paintout at Wilton House, Our First Meeting of the Season Was Huge Success!

Over 20 members enjoyed the gorgeous grounds of the Wilton House and Museum, a 1750 landmark, which was our destination for our opening meeting of the season. We gathered to paint outdoors, en plein air, and enjoy the early fall weather.

Wilton is built in the Georgian style of architecture, which was the prevailing style during the Colonial era in New England and the Southern colonies. Visited by George Washington and numerous Colonial era personages, the estate is on the James River Canal offering gracious views of the canal and plenty of shade trees. MRAA will plan more outdoor events going forward, so stay tuned.
